The South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League season is quickly approaching and the Carman Beavers have an exhibition game scheduled for October 18 against the Red River Wild in Carman, meanwhile, the team continues their search for some new volunteer help.

“The league schedule was supposed to be out on September 24,” said Beavers’ president, Tyler King. “I’m sure we’ll get it soon but until then we’re looking forward to our upcoming exhibition game against the team from Morris.”

The Beavers are still looking for some help for their upcoming home games as right now King will be a one-man show behind the scenes. The team is looking for individuals to help out with 50/50, door duty, and a few other jobs associated with home games. There are 10 home matches through the SEMHL regular season, and another dozen or so if the Beavers go on a long enough playoff run.

“We really need a game-day coordinator or someone who can help out with things happening at the games,” added King. “I can’t be in the stands, in the boxes, and in the penalty box at the same time so we need to fill some volunteer positions. It’s not easy for one person to operate an entire team so any help is much appreciated.”

Volunteering for the Beavers is a great way to enjoy the game and cheer on the beavers while helping the club at the same time. Get in touch Tyler King about volunteering at Tyler@townofcarman.com.
