The freight train that has been the Carman Beavers recently came off the rails over the weekend when the boys fell 13-3 to the Morden Redskins on home ice in South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League action Saturday night.
Morden took over from the opening faceoff and managed to score 6 unanswered goals before the Beavers could get on the board. Aaron Lewadniuk and Jake Dudar both managed to find twine late in the second period but things got much worse from there.
The Redskins continued to dominate in the final 20 minutes combining for a total 8 goals scored in the third, just one of those were by the Beavers. Morden scored another six straight goals before Dudar could get the Beavers their third of the night. The final Redskins’ goal of the night came at 16:42. Carman goaltender Steve Snider made 27 saves in a 40 shot night for the loss.
The Beavers are back in action Thursday night when Carman heads to Portage to take on the Islanders. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m.
