A memory tree has been erected at Access Credit Union to help raise funds for Carman Palliative Care
“The memory tree is something that is specific to the Carman Palliative Care Program that we will be running through December,” said Tim Doerksen, Regional Manager – North ACU.
“Back in the day, the memory tree was set up at the hospital. While the hospital may get a number of people going through there the tree was not generating as many donations as it could so they approached us thinking the credit union gets more people coming through the doors and it has proved to be a pretty good fundraiser for them,” he added.
$3,048 was raised for Palliative Care through memory tree donations in 2017. People can write the name of a loved one that has passed away on an angel and hang the angel on the memory tree. People can also make a donation to the Palliative Care in remembrance of said loved one.
Sandy Cameron with Palliative Care is excited the memory tree is set up at the ACU in Carman and is hoping to raise some funds for the organization.
Stop by the Access Credit Union in Carman to add to the memory tree or donate to Carman Palliative Care.
