The Oxford OPP reported the crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. on Thames Street South in Ingersoll. The 84-year-old woman was taken to hospital with what police describe as “serious” injuries.

Police have determined the vehicle, a pickup truck, was travelling south on Thames Street South while the woman was walking west.

The driver remained on scene and was co-operating with the investigation, the OPP reported.

Traffic investigators arrived at the scene, and Thames Street South between St. Andrews and Charles streets was closed for three hours. The scene is now clear.
