The Dufferin Agricultural Society and the Carman and Community Chamber of Commerce have joined forces. The chamber and DAS have formed a partnership for a pair of major annual community events, the Carman Country Fair and the Potato & Blossom Festival.

A mechanical failure was responsible for a hydro outage in the Starbuck area on Feb. 25. A Manitoba Hydro spokesperson said the outage began about 10:30 a.m. and ended around 2 p.m. Jim Peters said about 100 customers were without hydro for the three-and-a-half-hours.

Two more people have been charged in the Feb. 17 break and enter of Carman Sports & Empower Fitness. Carman Area RCMP Staff Sgt. Joanne Prejet said Sabrina Ducharme and Mitchell Mikolajczyk both of Winnipeg, have been charged.

The rivalry continues to grow between the Pembina Valley Hawks and Southwest Cougars. They met at the end of the season to decide first spot in the West Division of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League and now will continue their battle in one of the league semi-final matchups.
